www.privateairny.com Private Air New York | Spring 2015 91 AVIATION Eclipse 550 Delivering its first Eclipse 550 jet to a customer in Albuquerque, NM, Eclipse Aerospace launches a creampuff of a jet to the market. e 550 comes with a 160 cubic foot cabin that features three seats with two on the right and one on the left. e cabin has three 14 inch by 10.4 inch wide windows on each side and the interior contains impressive, rich leather work on the seats and high-gloss wood trim on the side panels. Additionally, there is plenty of storage room (26 cubic feet and 260 pounds of baggage), that is firmly secured with an 11-point tie-down net that is behind the passenger seats. e 550 incorporates an all-electric design powered by two 200-amp, 28 VDC starter generators. e jet can fly 1,125 nautical miles at 41,000 feet at a maximum speed of 430 mph. Equipped with weather radar, auto- throttles, and traffic alerting system, it sells for about $3 million.
