Detailed dials make for wearable art
For example, Dubarry's Filteado Porteño watch has
a hand-engraved dial that is a sophisticated tribute
to the folk art from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Dubarry made Buenos Aires his home after many
years of world travel.
"Fileteado" folk art, which dates back to its origins
in the 1970s, features the stylized lines and the
flowering climbing plants commonly found on the
street signs and the buildings of Buenos Aires.
Dubarry's luxury timepiece is a high-tech
combination of forged carbon, titanium grade 5 and
18-karat gold paired with a rubber crocodile band
and hand engraved dials.
e Revolution GMT blends the folk art of
Argentina and Mexico. e bold dial features
friezes, plants and a grinning skull. Two openwork
hands in the center track the hours and minutes
with a central seconds hand and date with hand for
the second time zone. It has a stunning 43mm rose
gold or titanium case that is engraved with curls
and topped with a carbon or diamond bezel.
