XTI AIRCRAFT USING
NON-TRADITIONAL
FUNDING FOR
VERTICAL TAKEOFF

E
very few years a new,
revolutionary concept
in aviation appears on
the drawing boards
somewhere in the world
that is destined to change how we
commute via air travel. Unfortunately,
many of those concepts stop short
in the drawing phase through lack
of approval due to safety and/or
financial issues. But XTI Aircraft, a
Denver, Colorado-based aerospace
startup firm, has not only created a
transformation in air travel with its
vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL)
aircraft, but also in its non-traditional
funding attempts. e company
launched an equity crowdfunding
campaign last year to raise $50
million to fund the production of
the TriFan 600, a six-seat fixed wing
jet that can take off and land like
a helicopter. In development for
over three years, XTI is designing
the TriFan 600 to become the first
commercially certified high-speed
VTOL airplane.
