"It's challenging for all levels of golfers and it's just about impossible to ever get tired of these views," he says with a sweep of his arm – a gesture that highlights the brilliantly colored Georgian landscape. In addition to vignette after vignette appearing from hole after hole, Currahee also provides golfers with the convenience of a private driving range, practice bunkers, putting green - even a picturesque Stone built Turn Grill to grab a bite, a beer or some sweet tea before hitting the back nine. And when the last putt is made, there's the Club's impressive, 48,000 square foot club house to retreat to. Home to the Fazio Pub and Overlook Dining Room, the clubhouse is also where you can find a friendly game in the billiards room or kick back in the lodge room with its soaring ceilings and stone fireplaces – all in all a spectacular stage to settle in with a cocktail and revel in the moment of a perfect Georgia day. e clubhouse also boasts graciously appointed his and her locker rooms, complete with a stained glass ceiling bar, shipped across the Atlantic from Ireland, a private board room, conference area, business center and pro-shop – all designed to make your time at Currahee as effortlessly enjoyable as possible. While the golfing at Currahee is impressive to say the least, the community is also home to a four-acre sports campus where a state of the art fitness center, community room and excursion desk, as well as a salt water swimming pool replete with cabana and poolside dining courtesy of Canoe's Grill and Tiki Bar, lighted tennis courts, basketball and bocce courts, volleyball field, fire pit, and more await. "When Currahee was under development the pool, the massive clubhouse, the restaurants, golf course, the tennis courts, the design center, the post office – all of the amenities that we knew our residents would want were made into reality," explains Andrew Ward, Currahee President and Managing Partner. "It wasn't a matter of our members buying into a "someday' lifestyle. e lifestyle was already here, already built and just waiting for them. You just don't find that anymore today," extolled Ward. Regardless of how alluring any golf community – Currahee included - might be, the Club understands that to fully appreciate the offerings, the offerings must be convenient. "Where we are located," explains Ward, "you can reach either Atlanta or Greenville in only about 90 minutes. Just a few minutes from here, seven miles away, is Toccoa Aviation, Inc.'s FBO and RJ Letourneau Field – letting Currahee members go tarmac to tee box in less than twenty minutes!" An impressive yet intimate facility, RJ Letourneau and the adjacent FBO operated by Toccoa Aviation can welcome 45,000 lbs. single wheel, 55,000 lbs. dual wheel and even up to aircraft weighing 60,000 lbs. dual wheel (for occasional usage). According to Will Cobb, the airport's administrator, RJ Letourneau has obtained waivers in the past for a G-650 to land at 68,000 lbs. dual wheel, as well. "e proximity to the FBO and terminal at RJ Letourneau is just one more element of convenience that makes Currahee so special."
