An utterlery modern take on
a savvy and smart attitude
in contemporary fashion
design by Esteban Cortázar,
who was born in Bogotá
Colombia and grew up in
Miami, Florida. Mixing up
voluminous velour knits with
asymmetrically cut leather
tops, the designer seems to
be blending two opposing
concepts; nonchalant
elegance and limitation
of movement. Bringing
to mind the massive ball
gowns of the 18th century,
when a woman of style had
to carefully maneuver her
journey down the staircase,
in order to arrive safely at
the bottom, we wonder
if perhaps the extensive
caution and subliminal risk is
part of the fashion? Would
the women of nobility in
the court of Louis XVI have
given up their enormous,
lavish gowns for the sake of
safety? Of course not!
