PRIVATE AIR NEW YORK Jetting around the globe in search of the brightest and best travel destination for our readers is, without a doubt, one of the things I love most about my position at Private Air. And while my wanderlust certainly does have a way of taking hold of my soul (I am writing this from my hotel in Sri Lanka, fighting to keep my attention from wandering to the Indian Ocean views outside my window), it never ceases to amaze me how many covetable destinations we have right on our own doorstep. Case in point, the Currahee Club in Toccoa, Georgia. Less than two hours from Atlanta, bordering Lake Hartwell and with the Appalachian Mountains providing a stunning backdrop, Currahee is a special slice of Americana served Southern style. I had the opportunity to spend a few days in Georgia recently and loved soaking in the local culture, natural beauty and easy going elegance of Currahee. While I'll never tire of exploring exotic destinations, a visit to such iconic areas in the good, old U. S. of A. can sometimes be a gentle reminder that some of the most memorable places on Earth are often the ones waiting to be discovered in your own backyard. Whether your travels take you near or far, we hope that you take some time this fall to explore the destinations that make you happy – and we look forward to taking you along to some of ours. Cheers to an autumn full of discovery! Gina Samarotto Editor in Chief Toccoa-Stephens County Airport Toccoa, GA
