www.privateairny.com Private Air New York | Summer 2016 75 EVENTS T he stars shone brightly on June 22nd when developer Allen Gross, CEO of GFI Capital Resources Group, hosted a dinner to preview e Beekman, a historic 1881 landmark property located at 5 Beekman Street in Lower Manhattan. Built in 1881, e Beekman is celebrated for its extraordinary nine-story atrium and majestic pyramidal skylight, the landmark property restored under the design stewardship of Gerner Kronick + Valcarcel Architects, will encompass e Beekman, A ompson Hotel, with interior design by Brit Martin Brudnizki. e hotel is slated to open later this summer 2016 with the e Beekman Residences, a newly built 51-storey luxury condominium tower with interior design by Danish Architect/ Designer omas Juul-Hansen, to be completed in winter 2016. Starting with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the top floors of the illuminated atrium, over 100 guests including Dan Abrams, Michael Avedon Fredrik Eklund and Ryan McGinnes were treated to a performance by the Young People's Chorus accompanied by Grammy Award winning soprano Hila Plitmann before indulging in a four-course dinner previewing dishes from Tom Colicchio's upcoming restaurant, Fowler & Wells. Colicchio and Crafted Hospitality will also operate e Bar Room, located on the ground floor of the atrium, as well as all in-room and private dining for the hotel and residences. Keith McNally will join the Beekman as well with, Augustine, his first restaurant in Lower Manhattan.
