Brazilian manufacturer Embraer, unveiled its Embraer Legacy 450 in 2007 and it
completed its inaugural flight in the early part of 2014. e $16.5 million light-
midsize jet is said to be the firsts in its class to feature fly-by-wire controls, meaning
the use of a computer monitored system for the pilot to control flaps and rudders,
rather than manually operating them. is jet has a 2,900-mile range, an operating
ceiling of 45,000 feet, and a top speed of 540 mph. It seats up to nine passengers
in a six-foot tall, flat-floor cabin. e Legacy 450 offers luxurious cabins with
