P erhaps no collection defines the new luxe in menswear quite like Fendi's showing for Fall/Winter 2014-15. Silvia Venturini, the storied Italian label's creative director and a third- generation member of the Fendi family, used as her inspiration the raw materials that have long been considered iconic elements of the house: supple leathers, the softest cashmere fibers, and of course its liberal use of fur. is season Venturini spun these signature wares into a collection that was equal parts luxurious and modernist, from the streamlined biker jackets (including one fantastic version in mock crocodile) over slim pants to the bold, computer- driven graphics that adorned the sweaters, or the lush fox furs worn over tweed coats and wrapped about the throat. is highly tactile mix had us envisioning our favorite upscale destination this time of year: Aspen. No matter whether you ski or just prefer making an entrance at Matsuhisa or the Sky Hotel's 39 Degrees, you'll need that perfect balance of sophisticated with a touch of high-altitude chic.
