HYBRID SUPERCAR
Exclusivity gets a whole new benchmark with McLaren Automotive's latest plug-in hybrid supercar, the
McLaren P1. Successor to the McLaren F1, this 2-door coupe sports car with an RMR layout is powered by
a McLaren M838T twin-turbo 3.8L V8 petrol engine that can produce 727 bhp, paired alongside a KERS
electric motor which produces 176 bhp. Together this hybrid powertrain is connected to a 7-speed dual-clutch
transmission with a combined power output of 903 bhp translating to 916 PS at 7500 rpm whose maximum
torque output would be to the tune of a staggering 900 NM or 664 lb. ft. The P1 goes from 0 to 100 km/h
(62 mph) in just 2.7 seconds! The exclusive McLaren P1 is strictly limited to production of only 375 units.
250 units were sold in advance already, notwithstanding the price tag of £866,000 or €1.1 million.
