More than 1,500 737 MAX airplanes fly about 700,000 passengers on 5,500 revenue flights daily to destinations around the world. While supporting customized travel needs, the 737 airframe has evolved to reduce environmental impact from its first version of BBJ in 1997 to the latest BBJ 737-7, 737-8 and 737-9, all part of the BBJ 737 MAX family. e newest models reduce fuel use and emissions by 20% compared to the airplanes they replace while creating a 50% smaller noise footprint. In addition to these improvements, Boeing is working with the aerospace industry to decarbonize air travel for all. For nearly 20 years, Boeing has been pioneering global efforts to make sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) a reality and today, its efforts are more energized than ever. e company is acting on its commitment to ensure all the commercial airplanes Boeing delivers will be compatible with 100% SAF by 2030 and is establishing partnerships around the globe to scale SAF production for all.
