Hilary M. Weston, CM, CVO, OOnt and Salvatore Ferragamo; was emceed by Steve Weagle and developed by a steering committee including Peggy Cunningham, Jane Ford, Robert Gallagher, Christian Hammarskjold, Betsy Hanely, Manley Johnson, Judy Lemoncelli, Bruce McEvoy, Lauren Melillo, Jane Smalley, Maria Whittle and Max Secunda who also served as Match Director. e commemorative poster for the event was a vibrant masterwork printed from the canvas of Susan Easton Burns, the exceptionally gifted and equine-inspired master tasked with being the official artist of the 2014 Kentucky Derby. e players themselves represented a veritable who's who in the world of polo and included Prince of Wales Cup winner Malcom Borwick, U.S. Open at White Birch winner Lucas Criado, Kris Kampson of the United States, Argentinian Open player Inaki Laprida, U.S. Open winner Magoo Laprida, John Walsh of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and an exceptional polo player in his own right, Salvatore Ferragamo who has played on Tim Gannon's team against both H.R.H. e Prince of Wales and H.R.H. Prince Henry of Wales in Tidworth's Outback Match and 'Nacho' Figueras, hailed as one of the best players to have ever crossed a polo field. "is is the perfect opportunity to bring awareness to two of my biggest passions in life," Figueras explained, "bringing polo to the world and supporting important charitable causes." e excitement of the match was palpable, with thundering hooves mere feet away from the linen clad tables where guests indulged in grapefruit margaritas crafted from Indian River juice and the inimitable tequila of Casa Dragones, Laurent-Perrier champagne and blissful, 'Whispering Angel' rose from Chateau d'Esclans. A multi- course luncheon featuring seared duck, fig and manchego crostini, crusted beef tenderloin, and lump crab served alongside wine pairing from Il Borro meant that guests were as well fed as they were well entertained.
